Sales Representative in Genomics (f/m/d)


At Beckman Life Sciences, We are currently seeking a new Sales Representative to join our Life Science Genomics team. The Genomics market is constantly growing and Beckman Coulter is a major actor of this exciting world thanks to its gold standard, AMPure XP. Our Genomics department has a vital role at Beckman Coulter: our focus on innovation, reliability and efficiency has led us to become the partner of choice for biggest worldwide institutes.

As the successful candidate, your primary responsibility will be the sales of our Genomics products. This will include managing and developing current customer accounts, as well as developing new competitive accounts within your defined territory. Reporting to European Sales Manager Genomics, the purpose of your role will be to ensure maximum growth and achievement of pre-determined bookings and revenue targets, in addition to actively promoting the Company’s portfolio.
  • Exceeding sales targets for our products
  • Building positive relationships with selected customers throughout the client's organization from procurement to scientific staff and utilize these relationships to develop strategies for customer development
  • Strategically manage existing customers, to help protect & develop our existing business
  • Find opportunities for new products in Genomics and gather market intelligence and feedback to the team
  • Perform all sales activity within the assigned geographic territory such as customer site visits, telephone contacts, trade seminars and shows, customer seminars and channel management. Increase awareness of Beckman Coulter Genomics products by coordinating and attending exhibitions, seminars and other events and conducting direct marketing initiatives alongside other promotional activities as required
  • Produce a detailed business plan and visit management activity in line with company strategic targets for assigned customers and territories and identify or propose potential business deals by contacting potential partners to explore opportunities
  • Develop negotiating strategies & positions by studying the identified customer base; examining risk potentials and anticipating the customer's needs and goals
  • The ideal candidate will be educated to a higher degree in Biology, with a strong background (scientific and technical) in Molecular Biology. A Master degree or PhD is an advantage
  • Previous experience of technical selling within the Life Science, Industrial and/or Academic sector, or laboratory background are an advantage
  • Passion, team spirit, a self-motivated and results driven personality, who enjoys working on their own as well as part of a team is crucial in this role
  • Proven understanding of sales skills including, prospecting, qualifying, closing and growing existing customers
  • Laboratory or Process experiences are an asset
  • An experience in Next Generation Sequencing would make a difference
  • Strong organizational skills (time and territory management)
  • Language skills: fluent in German and English
  • An autonomous position in an international context
